Picked up this project with an amazing location and fascinating history whilst on holiday in Knoydart at the remarkable @doune_knoydart

Accessible by boat only this is definitely our most remote project yet!

It was great visiting this interesting Grade-II listed property in East Sussex earlier in the year to help the client with the briefing process at the start of their exciting journey.

Enjoying working closely on site with the client, builder (and junior project managers 😉). Great to see this project progressing well and looking forward to seeing it all come together.

As we go into another heatwave in the UK this week passive solar control to keep overheating at bay is increasingly important. The pivoting louvres that we designed on our stable block conversion project help manage the sun throughout the day using a simple hand-operated mechanism.

Fantastic to have received planning approval for remodelling and extension of this home for a young family in south west London. Great to build on our 100% success rate in Richmond-upon-Thames! ✅

Just back in the office after a fantastic break and train journey back from Sicily

1. Train boarding ferry to cross to mainland Italy 🚂⛴🌊
2. Ancient limestone quarries at Latomie del Paradiso which were used to form the ancient city of Syracuse.
3-4. Rich collage of mosaics inside the Duomo di Monreale and textures / glazes on the rooftop.
5. Re-use of the iconic Lingotto building, the former Fiat factory with ramps upto the rooftop test track, now an art gallery and shopping centre with beautifully planted rooftop.
6. Inspirational biophilic design, “25 Verde”, with 63 apartments set amongst the trees and plants by Luciano Pia with landscape architects @lineeverdi_landscape

Great to see our revitalisation of a vacant, historic city centre building in Salisbury get a fantastic spread in @premierconstruction_mag

We worked closely with the client to convert this former estate office into a dental clinic with two apartments on the upper floors. Delighted how this has brought new life to a struggling high street.

Had a great time exploring Dulwich Festival Artists’ Open House today.

Very grateful to @nimtimarchitects to let us feature some of our work alongside @flora.hunt , @_lucygr and Patrick O’Callaghan in their beautiful office.

Also always lovely to see one of our projects in use - an extension in Poet’s Corner, Herne Hill, has been transformed for the festival into a gallery to exhibit the fantastic work by @martingrover__ This was part of the Poet’s Corner Art Trail which also featured our great friend and super talented designer and potter @kevinbickham around the corner at Regent Road.

Look forward to seeing some more next weekend as the festival continues 🎨

Looking forward to exhibiting at @riba @the_rsaw Wales Week London 2025 in a few weeks.

The evening showcases the diverse and innovative work of architects with Wales and London connections and will even include a performance by the Borough Welsh Choir!

It’s a free event at @ribalondon on 27 February but do reserve a spot.

A few shots from behind the scenes from the day filming for @riba House of the Year. We were pretty nervous about speaking on camera but the RIBA team, rest of family and film crew were fantastic. Special shout out to Palmer, the rescued pheasant chick, who made a guest appearance in the film! 🎬🐣

Absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted as one of six for this year’s @riba House of the Year! 🤯🤩
Has been a struggle keeping this under our hats for the last few months and we are so honoured to be amongst such a fantastic lineup of projects.

The RIBA House of the Year jury praised the sensitivity and imagination of the retrofit:

‘The design introduces lightness and humour through an architectural language that complements the original building without being constrained by it. Sustainability is woven into the building’s narrative... existing elements are thoughtfully re-purposed rather than replaced, reinforcing the project’s commitment to both heritage and innovation’

Huge thanks to all the people who have helped make this project so special, especially our amazing client as well as our main contractor @gadamsconstruction and structural engineer @elementstructures

As part of winning the Gold Medal for Architecture at this year's @eisteddfod we had the opportunity to put together an exhibition in @YLleCelf pavilion about the stable block. It was fantastic to see so many people engaging with it during the day and special shout out to @mereridvelios who did a great job curating and putting it all together. Also big thanks to @roshansama and @hamlivingston for capturing some amazing drone and video footage of the stable block to use in the exhibition, ceremony and S4C! The exhibition is open throughout the rest of the week at the Eisteddfod in Pontypridd.
